G. John White
John is married to Cathryn and lives in Coopers Beach, New Zealand. They have three adult children and two grandchildren. John and his family moved to New Zealand in 1988 and they became NZ citizens in 1993.
From school John spent 20 years working in one of the "Big 4" clearing banks in the UK (Lloyds Bank), rising from office boy to head office and branch management.
Then the Lord asked him to give all that up and become involved in Christian radio, both as part of the pioneer team of UCB Europe and then as part of the management team of Radio Rhema Inc, NZ, which he enjoyed for more than 8 years.
Then the Lord asked asked him to give that up as well and become a full-time church pastor. He was on staff at Greenlane Christian Centre, Auckland for 12 years as the Director of Pastoral Ministries overseeing the the cell group ministry, ethnic ministries, pastoral care and discipleship training. At the same time John was also a regional adviser for Auckland for the Alpha Course.
As the Alpha Courses were so successful at Greenlane Christian Centre John was asked to become the National Director for Alpha for NZ before becoming the Training Director for the Alpha Asia Pacific Region
John White has written books since 1984. The first was God 4 highlighting the position of the Church representing God on Earth today. A personal account of a trip to Israel was written in 1990. John wrote the devotional for NZ’s Christian newspaper Challenge Weekly for 10 years.
Since 'retirement' John continues to write, adding new resources to the website. John spends most of his time mentoring and encouraging the Church leaders throughout the region of Northland NZ, as well as continuing church leadership development, evangelism and other ministry activities across Asia and the Pacific. John was ordained as a Bishop to The Philippine Churches Easter 2019.
In April 2022 John, his wife and friends started a Church in Coopers Beach which meets regularly at 10am on Sundays.
