Isaiah 66:9
"DO I BRING YOU TO THE MOMENT OF BIRTH AND NOT GIVE DELIVERY?" SAYS THE LORD
This is written indelibly upon my mind!
It was for all of us in 1987 at U.C.B. Europe, the English Christian Radio Ministry - a "Rhema" word from God. The Lord gave it to one of our trustees about 6 months before we were due to commence broadcasting. The Lord had given us His vision for Christian Radio in Britain, but it seemed everything was against us. We were young, ignorant, mainly Kiwis starting out on a "faith venture". We had no background really of which to speak. No broadcasting experience in England. No English Christian Ministry as a heritage. All we had was what we saw as an invitation from God to be part of what He was going to do in Britain.
The laws were against us; our young age was against us; our almost invisible finances were against us; and the fact that we were unknown was against us. I think too, the very fact that we were trying to do something which everyone else "knew, couldn't be done" was also against us.
Against this background we secured a contract to enable us to broadcast - it was a miracle in itself - but then, that only meant that we would need some vast finance to make it happen and we didn't have it in our hands, nor any idea from where it would come.
Through that "tunnel" of impossibility, came this verse like a shaft of light as bright as lightning. U.C.B. was about to come to the moment of its birth but we had nothing - not the where-with-all to give "delivery".
But God gave us His promise. Do I (The Almighty Omnipotent God) bring (U.C.B.) to the moment of birth and not give delivery? We held and needed to hold onto that verse very tightly, as our "promise", for the next six months - right up to the very last hour - BUT GOD DELIVERED! HALLELUJAH and U.C.B. Europe was "birthed".
Can I encourage you today? If God has given you one of His visions - hold on to it, even if it seems that the final delivery is impossible. GOD DELIVERS!
He will NOT bring YOU to the moment of birth and fail to give (YOU) delivery.
Take it from me - one who knows!
