THANKS BE TO GOD WHO GIVES US THE VICTORY
You don't have to fight for it - He gives it to us.
We need to watch our theology at times and make sure it is Biblical. Hymns, songs and poetry may be emotionally great but they are not infallible sources of theology and yet so often in practice we end up believing what we sing! (That's why it is always good to sing songs and hymns with sound doctrine in their words.)
Infallible theology comes from one place - the Word of God! The Bible tells us time and time and time again that Jesus has won the victory. We do not need to win it - it is already won! He gives it to us - it is for us to appropriate to ourselves. It is for us to make it our own and for us to move in it!
God gives us all things "on a plate" - our forgiveness, our salvation, our resurrection, our sitting in heavenly places in Christ Jesus, our living in victory and our destiny in the new heaven and the new earth.
So, why are we always under pressure, under attack, living in defeat and struggling along the pathway?
Well, there are a variety of reasons. A lack of knowledge; a lack of understanding of the will, plan, purposes and power of God; a lack of faith; a lack of obedience or a lack of Biblical understanding.
However, also, as the children of Israel had to learn, although the Promised Land had been given to them, victory had been secured, they still had to go and occupy it. Just in the same way we have to do the same and there will be struggles and battles along the way.
But VICTORY is assured. It has already been WON and God gives it to us.
We have the victory over sin, death, Hell and the devil - Hallelujah!
