CHOOSE FOR YOURSELVES THIS DAY WHOM YOU WILL SERVE!
You know that the Lord is with you ... you've seen His hand at work. Yes you've even experienced a miracle or two, however small. But what about the long haul? That marriage that is in a mess ... that job which has become frustrating ... that employer that just seems to "use" me ... that relationship with God that feels so dry and hard yakka...
Joshua had seen it all ... The crossing of the Red Sea, the Manna and the quails; He had spied out the Promised Land and come back to faithlessness and rebellion; He had endured the 40 years in the Wilderness, taken Jericho and suffered Ai; entered the Promised Land and apportioned it. He still knew the "heart" of the people. They were still rebellious and self-centred.
As he left them for his "higher calling", he left them the challenge ... but as for me and my house ... we will serve the Lord.
How about you? Do the "miracles" seem so short lived? The good times seem an illusion? Or are you like Joshua ... remember the times you KNEW GOD DELIVERED and so will trust and serve Him.
As you pray today - Consider your commitment to Jesus, recommit yourself to follow Him unreservedly, and speak it out in faith.
