HE CROWNS ME WITH LOVE AND COMPASSION...
Not just out of the pit - that's not enough for our God!
He never does things by half! He not only takes me out of the pit and gives me a full life -HE CROWNS IT! I'm not just rescued and left to fend for myself - to try and cope on my own - no. He knows what we are really like; He remembers that we are dust; that every intention of man's heart, our heart, is towards evil.
So He comes along side - not just some times, but all the time. He is constantly beside me to help me whenever I fall - He picks me up and helps me back on my way - BUT MORE THAN THAT - He crowns me with love and compassion!
His love is totally unconditional. It doesn't depend on me or who I am. It doesn't depend on what I've done or not done or upon my achievements. It doesn't depend on my feelings. It doesn't depend upon me keeping out of the pit! It relies upon God; His constant unchanging character; His unmerited favour; the fact that He loves us, His creatures, and has a 'Paternal' instinct over each and every one of us.
He is uniquely interested in each one of us. But even over and above all that is His compassion. His compassion that understands exactly what we are going through. He doesn't 'understand' from a distance - He understands through experience. In the Person of His Son, Jesus Christ, God has experienced 'life' as we do, life in the 'raw'. He understands our struggles; He both sympathises and empathises.
He is our greatest friend. But unlike our best friends - He will never let us down; He is constantly available to us and He IS the Answer to ALL our needs.
More than that He Crowns Our Life. He gives us much more than we deserve; He gives us more than we need; He gives us more than we desire. He takes up the poor and makes us rich; He takes up the blind and gives us sight; He takes up the lame and makes us walk. He turns our water into His wine!
If you want your life to be lived to the full - ask God to take over - and He will crown it with love and compassion.
