WHAT I SAY IS JUST WHAT THE FATHER HAS TOLD ME TO SAY
In the beginning was The Word and The Word was with God, and the Word was God. God said Let there be light. God "spoke" and He saw that it was very good. I'm totally convinced that after Jesus had "spoken" whilst on earth, Father looked down and "saw that it was very good".
Be honest, what is your main ambition in life. To raise your family well, so they all know and trust Jesus? - That would be great wouldn't it? (My parents can say that!) To work sufficiently effectively that you provide material wealth for your wife, family and leave an inheritance? To fulfil your giving to the church, in time, talent and wealth? Or "to say just what your Father has told you to say?"
What does really motivate you? Success, achievement, recognition, applause, respect? Or knowing that you have "Done the will of My Father in Heaven" and said, "what He has told me to say"? Is it an "add-on" to your life or are they the true foundations of your life. Only you can answer that question.
You've still time this year to sit down and re-evaluate what your motives are. Not just what they should be - be honest - what are your real motives? How do they stack up against what God has planned for your life? Have you really given it all over to Him or does He just get a portion - maybe a 10th? We shall all eventually stand before His throne and give an answer for our lives. What will your answer be? No excuses will be adequate. No reasons absolving.
When all has been said, when all has been done what will you answer? What did you do with Jesus who is called the Christ? How closely did you follow Him? Did you obey His commands?
There is still time to make a change so that you "say, just what Father has told you to say".
