Psalm 103:12
AS FAR AS THE EAST IS FROM THE WEST...
If you are at the Equator, North and South are adjacent!
Similarly, at the North and South Poles, in that, at the North Pole you can only go South and at the South Pole you can only go North! Indeed, no matter where you start, if you start heading South and keep going in that direction, eventually you will start going North. Similarly, if you start heading North and keep going in that direction, eventually you will have to come back South!
Not so with the East and West! You can travel, from today in an easterly direction and keep going that way for the rest of your life. The same is still true even if you leave this planet!
How far has God removed our transgressions from us? That far! As far as the East is from the West! No matter how hard the enemy may try and convince us otherwise, we stand on the Word of God, and the Word of God tells us that God has removed my transgressions from me, "as far as the East is from the West."
In other words they are NOT LOCAL! They are NOT still clinging to me; they are NOT still binding me like chains around my neck, hands and feet - THEY ARE GONE! And I will NEVER SEE THEM AGAIN, however hard I try and however long I live!
Isn't that Good News? Listen to the old hymn:
"When satan tempts me to despair
and tells me of the wrong within,
upward I look and see Him there
WHO MADE AN END OF ALL MY SIN."
Don't take satan's word for it, for it is just a lie from the father of lies.
Believe the Word of God, who became flesh and dwelt among us and paid the price for all my sin, and then removed them in His body on the Tree and sent them as far away as the east is from the west!
He stands, today, in front of you with arms outstretched in triumph and says
"YOU CAN TRUST ME - THEY'VE GONE - I HAVE SET YOU FREE!"
Don't go looking for what God has removed. Rejoice in His grace and thank Him for His Promises.
Your sins have been removed as far as the east is from the west. Go live in that freedom and victory!
