Revelation 21:9
I WILL SHOW YOU THE BRIDE
God hates divorce!
Isn't it interesting that we all acknowledge that you can never stop being a parent or a son or a daughter and yet we can "stop" being a husband or wife. It is beyond my understanding and is totally non-Biblical.
We all know that my son or daughter will never stop being "mine". Even if they misbehave in the worst possible way, move to the other side of the world and change their name by deed poll, they are still my son or daughter.
So is the wife and husband relationship in God's eyes. That's why we say, "what God has joined together let no man separate".
Why am I saying all this? Because, for God, marriage is not a contract it is a covenant and He is a covenant-keeping God. When He says the Jews are "His Bride" - that means, "the Jews are His Bride".
God doesn't change. His covenants are forever. The Church is the "Bride of Christ". Yes, but we Gentiles have been grafted in. We cannot exclude Israel. Take away Israel and you cease to be the Bride because you have nothing left to be "grafted" into!
Why is this so important? Because if God could ever reject/"divorce" Israel, He could also reject/"divorce" the Church.
He will never do that. God is unlike man. He is faithful to His promises; He is faithful to His covenant. He will never ever reject or divorce His Bride.
You and I can have total confidence and therefore total peace and be totally released - set free - because God will never reject or divorce His wife!
What makes a wife bloom and sparkle? Reassuring, unconditional, never-ending love.
If you want to see your wife fulfilled - give that to her - it's God's model - and what He gives to us as His Bride.
