Joshua 18:3
HOW LONG WILL YOU WAIT BEFORE YOU BEGIN TO TAKE POSSESSION OF THE LAND THE LORD HAS GIVEN YOU?
It's up to you!
Joshua challenges seven of the Israelite tribes who had still not yet received their inheritance. That's over half the tribes. What was the problem? The Promised Land had been "won" but they hadn't taken possession of it.
Why not? Because of faithlessness, doubt, fear and apathy. They are more powerful than iron chariots.
They may stand and taunt day after day after day, but you have a choice.
Yes, you have a choice. You either let their arrogance increase or you go out and defeat them. You have the authority, they don't. You have the power, they don't. They know they cannot stand if you attack but they hide behind a bluff, and so often we shudder, run, hide and cry.
The Lord says to us today (read Ephesians 1:3) "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the Heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ." That's our promised land - that's your promised land. He has blessed us in the Heavenly realms with EVERY spiritual blessing in Christ Jesus. You cannot be better blessed. You cannot wish for more!
So God challenges us again today "How long will you wait before you begin to take possession of the land the Lord has given you?" Go, possess it.
Shout at the enemy - "Get out of my way! I'm going to possess all that God has provided for me in Christ Jesus. Back off, in His victorious name."
Go, take possession and once you have - don't let go of it!
