THE GIFT OF GOD IS ETERNAL LIFE
The 'free' gift of God is Eternal Life.
Yes, these days we have to say that, don't we? Free gift of God. Today, we get gifts and 'so called' free gifts thrown at us from all directions and if we are not careful it can cheapen our view of what God has done for us. Also today, many of the so-called 'free' gifts are conditional. Buy this and we will give you a free gift. Or "come and get your free gift" and when you get there you have to submit to a hyper-sales pitch to buy a weeks holiday somewhere or other! Not so with God.
His gift is totally free to us! It is completely unconditional and what is more, it starts now rather than later. Yes, your Eternal Life starts right now. Right from the moment of New Birth.
Eternal Life is life in a completely new dimension. What is that new dimension? The Presence and indwelling of the Holy Spirit. He is the seed and also the guarantee of Eternal Life. Without Him I don't have Eternal Life. The amount I allow the Holy spirit to have control of my life is the extent to which I will experience and enjoy Eternal Life now. What's more it gets even better later on.
Not only Eternal Life through the indwelling and filling of the Holy Spirit now, but a resurrection body like Jesus' when He returns, followed by constant fellowship with Him in the New Heaven and the New Earth for evermore.
The free gift is by grace too! Yes, we don't deserve it. It was purchased at Christ's expense and given to us. Eternal Life is not just living forever. Eternal Life is a new dimension where we should live naturally in the supernatural. The gifts of the Holy Spirit are all part of the normal Christian Eternal Life. God gives them freely to us; so that we can demonstrate His Eternal Life to others, so that in turn, they will be drawn to Him, accept Him as their Saviour and Lord and experience the same Eternal Life for themselves.
The key is this - let the Eternal Holy Spirit live His Life out through you and you will find it is indeed the Gift God said it is...
