This month I want us to look at why we are still on earth! We are not in Heaven yet - we are destined to go there - and many of us would like to go there quickly (be it to escape the present, be released from the pain experienced on earth or just out of an overwhelming desire to "be with Jesus"). So why can't we go there straight away once we have become a Christian? Maybe there is still something for me to do or become on earth. Let's together have a look at what we are here for... |

SILVER AND GOLD I DO NOT HAVE: BUT...
Some Christians don't seem to know that there can be better things in life than a McDonald's ham or beef burger.
Others get so wrapped up in the philosophy and trappings of the world, that if they were asked for silver and gold - usually they would be able to give it - but if they couldn't, they would be totally embarrassed and run off trying to hide.
I was always told and tend to adopt the policy - never give money, either give food or take whoever begs for a meal.
But what about this guy here? If I were right, he would have remained just where he was for the rest of his life! He wouldn't have been healed and it is highly unlikely that he would ever have started walking and jumping and praising God.
Our logic, our reasoning may be fine most of the time, but does it not reduce my faith, lower my expectations and limit the power of God?
We always seem to spend our time preaching to those who don't want to know - and having little or no success. The interesting thing is Jesus didn't either!
Maybe, just maybe, if we spent more time, energy and faith on the "crippled" people of this world, and instead of throwing them "hand outs" let them experience the Power of God that is within us, we too, would not only experience the same events we read of in Acts, but set people free, challenge society, reduce satan's kingdom and let the Kingdom of God loose on this earth.
Worth thinking about, isn't it?
