I WILL BUILD MY CHURCH AND THE GATES OF HELL WILL NOT OVERCOME IT
As one of my pastors said, "Gates swing, they do not walk! They do not chase or attack you! GATES YIELD!"
They are not offensive; they are merely defensive! And the gates of hell are defenceless!
Jesus has spoken! His Word is true and Jesus said, "I will build My Church and the gates of hell will not overcome it" There is total determination in this Word of God. "I will build." There is no question, no discussion, no 'ifs' or 'buts' about it. It is a simple statement of fact by none other than the Son of God! "I will build." The Church of God is bound to grow!
Isaiah prophesied it. 'Of the increase of His Government and Peace there will be NO end.' He doesn't say 'Of His Government and Peace there will be no end.' That would be terrific enough - but no - he says 'Of the INCREASE... there will be no end.' It will continue to increase. It's the increase that will not end!
I will build My Church. I'm sorry if you are one of those that believes that at the end there will only be a few of us left. Elijah did, but he was wrong, too! I'm sorry but I don't agree. Jesus said, "I will build My Church and the gates of hell will not overcome it."
The Communists thought they could! As someone asked "Why were America and England pointing their missiles at Russia and China when there are far more Christians in those states than in the West?" We are only now beginning to find out how many Christians there are in China, when all along we were told that no-one could be a Christian in China! There is nothing like a dose of persecution to purify and propagate the Christian Church!
The West doesn't even know what a Christian is! They started of with believers. That wasn't enough so we had to introduce true believers. Then came born again believers. Then we added spirit-filled. Then we had true, born again, Spirit-filled, Bible-believing Christians! What will we have next? Promise keeping, Bible-believing, Spirit-filled, Born-again, Christians?
Hey, Jesus, knows those who are His - they follow Him! You don't need a name - you need to demonstrate a life-style! Jesus is building His Church worldwide. He has invited you and me to play a part in it.
What is yours? You can have total confidence that whatever He has 'called' you to; you will have total ultimate victory in it. Why? Because He has promised -
"I will build My Church and the very gates of hell will not overcome it."
NO - THEY WILL YIELD!
