Has He given you 'a word'?
Are you holding on to a vision, a prophecy, a desire, or a hope in your heart that God has given you? Well, if God has given it to you, you can be totally sure that it "will not return empty but it will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it!"
I've been there many times. God has quickened something to my spirit. What does that mean? It means that either as I have read a verse of Scripture it has 'leapt out from the page' and I realise God is making it mine. A promise, a confirmation of something that I have been praying about, planning or just thinking about. Or maybe a thought has come into my mind and after thinking about it for a while, I determine it must have come from the Lord.
Either way - it becomes very important to me - far more important than anything else at the time. If that is your experience - then hold on to it, because God will in His perfect time, bring it to pass.
Watch out for other people's prophecies for you. Test them against Scripture and also what God is saying to you. You are His child and He wants to communicate with you direct, not just through others. Don't go rushing after them just because they sound attractive, and don't start worrying about them, just because they are unpleasant either. Test them against the word of God - the Bible and ask God to reveal the truth about them to you. When you have established the word is true, then you can hold on to it and see it become a reality.
Do you know what? Even as I write this, the Lord has revealed something new to me about this verse. My Word - will not return to Me empty. God's Word is Jesus! Jesus was sent forth - out of the mouth of God to this earth. Jesus accomplished ALL that Father desired. He said, "I only do what I see My Father doing." Father said "This is My Son in whom is all My delight."
Jesus achieved the purpose He was sent for - our eternal salvation - and He achieved that! Did He return empty? Certainly not! We have been purchased by His blood and He is going to present us to Father on that Great Day!
No, not empty - His 'train' will fill the Temple! And myriads upon myriads will sing - "Worthy is the Lamb that was slain, to receive blessing and honour, wisdom and thanks, power and strength for ever and ever. Hallelujah. Amen!"
