WE ARE THEREFORE CHRIST'S AMBASSADORS
What is an Ambassador?
Someone appointed to a foreign country to represent their own Sovereign State. They need to be held in high regard by that Government, President, King or Chief leader. Their role is to live and speak on behalf of the Sovereign State, and to be able to represent it at all times. They should know intimately the views of the 'Sovereign' leader so that they can accurately respond to questions and issues, which arise. Frequent dialogue is imperative.
They are not 'subject' to local law but respect it. They normally 'live' in the expectation of a return to their sending nation. It is a full-time job - they have to be able to respond at a moment's notice 24 hours a day. Often their Embassy, though their 'home', becomes a place of refuge for those in conflict with their 'host' nation, a piece of 'foreign territory' in the nation.
We are therefore! What for! God has committed to us the message of reconciliation. Because of that we have become ambassadors for Christ. We have been chosen by Our Sovereign Jesus Christ to represent Him on earth and to proclaim His message of reconciliation.
In order for us to have the "appropriate" message for each person, each day we have to spend time with Him, getting to know Him intimately, His message thoroughly so that we can deliver it the most effective way and most appropriate way to those to whom He has called us to share it - our family, friends, neighbours, work mates, etc.
We don't belong to this world, and our homes should be a haven for the unchurched and unsaved, as well as a place of hope for other Heaven bound pilgrims. We should be available to our Sovereign and those in need 24 hours a day.
And remember - one day we will be recalled to our Sovereign's Presence forever! Never forget - it is a very high calling!
