I AM THE LIVING ONE; I WAS DEAD AND BEHOLD I'M ALIVE FOREVER AND EVER
Jesus can't die twice! And He is totally authentic.
When we "see" Jesus today - He is not on a cross; He is risen; He is ascended into heaven, to the place of highest honour. God's right hand.
Yes, He is the same Jesus who died on the cross. He is the one who died for you and for me. He is the one who shed His blood that we might be cleansed and purified from all our sins. He is the one who rose from the dead, conquering sin and death and Hell - as He, Himself says - "I am the Living One, I was dead, and behold, I am alive forever and ever".
Look up, my friend, look up! See over the clouds of your circumstances, above the storms of adversity, and up beyond the heavens, to the abode of God. There, in shining unparalleled brightness and glory, sits One who was dead but is now alive forevermore.
His name is Jesus. He is there now - nothing can change His majesty ever again. The Bible says that one day He will return "in all His glory and with His shining angels".
What an awesome day that will be on earth.
For those who don't know Him, it will be a time of dreadful and terrifying fear and utter despair. For those of us who do know Him, love Him and serve Him, it will be a time of tremendous excitement and overwhelming joy. Then we shall understand this verse in all its glorious reality!
We shall, one day, SEE HIM in all His eternal omnipotent splendour - seated at the right hand of the Majesty on high. We will hear His voice, like the sound of mighty rushing waters, saying; "Behold - I am the Living One. I was dead and behold I am alive forever and ever."
Close your eyes for a minute - try and visualise the amazing sight and try to hear those doom-shattering words.
Don't move from your chair until you do and you will find today will be different!
