WE DID NOT FOLLOW CLEVERLY INVENTED STORIES
Isn't it a relief?
We have not been hoodwinked; we have not been fed the "opium of the masses"; we have not been fooled by men's imaginations or inventiveness; we have not been misled by the media.
Those who spend time watching television, films and videos, now want to see that extra programme - "The making of 'x'." What that does in snippet form, is not only whet the viewers appetite for the main feature, but it also goes behind the scenes to show us how they "made" some of the stunts and how the illusions "were created."
With so much T V being watched, and so many films and videos being made, the "invented" and "illusion" become the norm, whilst the "real" loses both its appeal and its effect. It also happens with wars, atrocities, and accidents. We see so many "invented" ones that the "real" ones no longer shock us as they should, and in the end we remain unmoved and callous.
We become conditioned and immunised from reality. Indeed, so much fiction and theory is being proclaimed as fact, that the real facts are no longer believed or trusted.
Even Pilate exclaimed, "What is truth?" He saw Jesus, but missed "TRUTH" standing there, right in front of his eyes and nose!
What is your belief system? On what is it based? Invented, contrived stories or the Truth?
May I encourage you today? If you are a Christian and basing your beliefs on the Word of God, the Bible - you have a sure foundation. How do I know? Because the authors, especially John and Peter, walked with Jesus. They lived with Him, talked to Him, watched Him, listened to Him and even watched Him die. And then 3 days later, they saw Him, after He rose from the dead, and continued to see Him over the next six weeks, prior to his Ascension.
Yes, we don't follow cleverly invented stories, but the Truth, and the Truth has set us free.
