October Topic: Grace |
As it is not until we have a deep appreciation of what GRACE is and means, that we really come into the full liberty in Christ that we have been purchased to experience, let's take this month to explore some of its depths and treasures. |
2 Corinthians 12:9
MY GRACE IS SUFFICIENT FOR YOU
Yes it is!
You may well be going through experiences right now, which are causing you to cry out "No, it's not!" But hang in there because - yes it is! We may feel the temperature is "too hot" - we are hemmed in on all sides, or like Moses, we feel between the Chariots of Egypt behind us and the Red Sea in front of us, but hey, remember what happened for him!
I'll tell you this, my experience of God re-affirms it, the Word of God declares it - which is much more important - the Red Sea will have to part sooner or later! The timing is always His - the way is always His - the stretching I must endure is always up to Him, but look up, my friend, look up because He says to you today "My grace IS sufficient for you!"
Paul had his thorn in the flesh. It obviously got to him in a big way. He asked God to remove it but He didn't. Most translations say "three times." Somehow I think the English idiom is nearer the mark. "Time and time and time again, I pleaded with the Lord." Pleading just three times doesn't seem to describe it properly. If you plead, you plead. You don't stop after just three times!
The trouble with us is we like to "be in control", we like to be able to use all our faculties to the maximum and we look down on those who can't. We constantly want to live in victory - but our interpretation of victory is after the event not the battle and process to get there!
God hasn't promised the way will be easy. He wants to develop our character. He wants to be able to show to the world that His people are different. Oh yes, they experience similar trials, frustration - probably more insults, derision and testing - and yet through them all He proves, time and time and time and time again, that "My grace is sufficient for you."
He will never lead you where His grace cannot keep you.
This is a promise, my friend, for you today.
Father says to you right now. My grace IS SUFFICIENT even for you!
