May Topic: NEW HEAVEN AND NEW EARTH |
This month we look at our final and eternal DESTINY What does the Bible say Heaven will be like and who gets in? |
Revelation 21:5
I AM MAKING EVERYTHING NEW...
PREPARED FOR ANOTHER PARADIGM SHIFT?
Yes, what you have been longing for will become reality!
The wicked will get their just desserts. Sin and evil will triumph no more. Sickness and death will no longer parade their fear and devastation among the people.
Everything will be new! The current "world system" will be done away with. There will indeed be a new world order but not of man's making or imagination. The new order will usher in that period known as eternity! This is after that time known as the 1,000-year reign of Christ on earth. That too will pass away! So even some of the "good things" will be gone as well.
But as Isaiah said (chapter 29) "Once more the humble will rejoice in the Lord and the needy rejoice in the Holy One of Israel". No longer shall we suffer having been "born in sin". No longer will we be plagued by guilt or failure. No longer will we understand in part - but will fully understand. No longer shall we walk in faith for then we shall see face to face.
C S Lewis in his book "The Great Divorce" gives a beautiful picture. When we get to heaven it is like coming up through the surface of the ground like a worm. However, as we emerge, we grow in size and the grass is soft to our touch, and the colours are all in a new brilliance. But never could we go down that hole again - any more than can a butterfly squeeze back into the cocoon it left.
All the effects of the Fall will cease to exist. We need to be ready for the change for it will happen in the blink of an eye.
How do you get prepared for the new heaven and the new earth? There is but one way.
Get to know Jesus. For Jesus is not only to be there but is preparing the place for us.
Open your eyes and look up and try by faith to see Jesus sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.
Get to "know" that vision. Let it be your constant companion, for one day you will see it in all its glory.
One day we shall, in reality, see all things become new!
