Revelation 21:3
GOD HIMSELF WILL BE WITH THEM
The culmination of the plan of God!
He created man to have relationship and fellowship with Himself. We see right from the beginning God always wanted to be "with" His creation.
He walked in the Garden with Adam and Eve until they "fell" and were expelled from it. He came down and saw on many occasions. He came and talked to Abraham and Jacob. He was there in the pillar of fire and cloud. He came down into the Tabernacle and Ark of the Covenant.
Then when the people forsook Him, He had to 'wait' for the building of the temple - the place for His name! Then the people rejected Him again and it wasn't until "the Word became flesh and tabernacled for a while among us" that He came again.
But that wasn't the full picture either, because even in Jesus He had limitations. He was only in one place at a time. So He ascended into glory and sent to us His Holy Spirit to live in us. Our bodies are the Temple of the Holy Spirit. God dwells with us now -
BUT - GOD HIMSELF WILL BE WITH THEM - HERE is the FULFILMENT of His plan. Yes, all the other stages were necessary in order to win back what He had originally intended.
Now, at last, His heart's desire is finally realised. He Himself will be with them.
Not an angel, not in part but He Himself in ALL HIS FULLNESS. We are redeemed, sanctified and made perfect and have come into His eternal presence never to depart again.
Isn't that like God - the best is yet to come!
THEN He will be with us forever. No more doubts, no more dreams, reality! There for us to enjoy the privilege, blessing, love and beauty of His presence in all its majesty, power, purity and splendour, for ever
He will be there, my friend.
We will be there and so will He - in everlasting intimacy!
