October Topic: Grace |
As it is not until we have a deep appreciation of what GRACE is and means, that we really come into the full liberty in Christ that we have been purchased to experience, let's take this month to explore some of its depths and treasures. |
Romans 3:24
JUSTIFIED FREELY BY HIS GRACE...
Two points here!
Freely. Freely - at no cost. Justification is not up to us and our life or emotions. Nothing to do with us, but entirely to do with God. Neither you nor I will ever 'earn' it, and it comes as an integral part of our 'salvation package.'
I don't 'get saved' and then start doing good works in order to gain my justification. I don't get justified by feeling justified - although the feelings and emotions that come through knowing I am justified are terrific. But it comes as fact and as a right through the grace of God alone.
The other issue relates to the way in which the justification is given, and granted. It is freely given, extravagantly given. Given in love, because of the unconditional love of God. Isn't that terrific? Doesn't that cause your spirit to sing and cause you to want to jump up and dance? Go on, no one else is looking! Let yourself go in extravagant worship to God for such wonderful grace to you.
How come you stopped so soon? Listen, what can be more fantastic than to know that a Holy Righteous Pure and Living Heavenly Father God, who cannot abide sin in any form, at any price, but has to banish it from His Presence and destroy it with His Wrath, is prepared, not through anything we have done; to allow us, not only forgiveness, not only entrance into His Presence, but to do so with joy. Just as if I had never been born in sin, never committed any sin, past, present or future, and I can stay there as long as I like, forever.
He gives it freely. Why? Because of Jesus, His One and Only Son!
Tell me. What does our Father really think of Jesus and what He has done, if He is prepared to do all that for me - as Paul wrote - the chief of sinners?
God must really love Jesus. Jesus' sacrificial death must truly be 'something else.'
Hey, listen. God is talking to you, today. You, yes YOU, are freely justified by His Grace.
Firstly, believe it.
Secondly, live as if you do.
Thirdly, be grateful and rejoice!
