June Topic: FAITH (for without faith it is impossible to please God) |
This month let's have a look at how we can please God and at the same time experience the dynamic power of God which will make our Christianity very exciting and totally contagious! |
Judges 6:16
YOU WILL STRIKE DOWN THE MIDIANITES AS IF THEY WERE ONE MAN
That's what I love about God!
There we are surrounded by all those enemies - well we may not have 135,000 of them - but Gideon and his 300 men certainly did. God tells us to concentrate on one! Concentrate on one and all the rest will be gone!
But we get confused as to which one. They seem to come at us from every angle, darting this way and that, here and there, back and forth.
How do you concentrate on one? Just as one gets into sharper focus and you're about to deal with it another two or three quickly come to the fore and demand action. We all suffer from allowing the urgent to obscure the important.
Yes, of course, you're right! We concentrate on the wrong one. We are supposed to concentrate on The One. Again The One with all authority, and all power. The One who has already WON. He is the One who gives us authority, strategy and victory. He is the One who, when we give Him control of the situation and our lives, allows only those things to attack us which we can handle in His strength and then usually one at a time.
How often I have been running around like a chicken without a head, bumping into all the problems and solving none. I then "remember" to pray. The important gets dealt with and the next falls into place.
Get God into the focus of your day today. Be "sold out" for Him and let Him deal with your Midianites. You'll see Him strike them down as if they were but one man.
Don't let the urgent, rob you of dealing with the important today.
Go get yourself a victory!
