Hebrews 12:3
SO THAT YOU WILL NOT GROW WEARY & LOSE HEART
God will not take you, where He will not carry you. He will never ask of you, something Jesus has not already endured. Oh, yes, the Christian life is not easy. We all have our individual experiences to endure and for us, often the weight seems too heavy.
But look up. Look up and see once more Jesus - the Son of God walking beneath a wooden cross. His back is torn apart and the bare flesh exposed. Blood is pouring from His back and face. The weight of the cross itself becomes so great He cannot bear it any longer and stumbling He falls to the ground. Someone from the onlooking crowd - a visitor to town is 'press ganged' into carrying it behind Jesus, who has been goaded on into walking up the road to Calvary.
There, at Golgotha, the sign of a skull, He is laid upon the cross and nailed to it. The beams are raised and dropped into the hole so that the cross remains erect, but the Christ is wrenched from the nail holes. The crown of thorns continues to slowly sink further into His head. "Let Him save Himself! Let God save Him if He really is His Son!"
Where are you at, today? Do you feel the weight of the world on your shoulders? Do you feel on your own in your Christian walk? Hey, look up. Jesus is now - Alive! He is right beside you, putting His arms around you. If you can't feel them, its because they are underneath you - carrying you. Hold on - He is coming back.
The end is in sight and I know who wins. The end is Jesus, Jesus, JESUS! When life is just too tough - look up to Jesus and see Him going on to win your salvation - and don't become weary or lose heart!
HE WENT ON TO WIN! AND BECAUSE HE DID, SO CAN YOU!
