November Topic: EMMANUEL - GOD WITH US |
WE HAVE SEEN HIS GLORY! Let's spend November together looking at the fact that God longs to be with us and for us to spend time with Him. |
Exodus 40:35
MOSES COULD NOT ENTER... BECAUSE... THE GLORY OF THE LORD FILLED THE TABERNACLE
God had arrived!
When He arrives there is nothing to do and nothing to say! Even today, with all our Christian, so-called 'sophistication', I wonder if we don't in fact 'miss it'.
I shall never forget a man who was often out on the streets preaching, telling how once a man came up to him and said " When I get to see God, I'm going to tell Him a thing or two - I'm going to tell Him..." The street preacher respectfully waited for him to finish and then politely replied "Actually I can tell you what you will say to God when you meet Him - you will say 'Yes Lord. Amen!'"
In our ignorant arrogance we can fool ourselves as to who God is. Yes, the unsaved can, I hear you think, but that's the unsaved! Mostly, yes, but over the years I have listened to conversations and prayers of 'Christians' and I wonder who they really think our God is!
I was with some folk the other day and we were thinking about angels. How awesome it would be to meet just one! If that would be awesome, how much more so, would it be to meet the Lord God Almighty - who was, and is, and is to come!
Moses finished the work of building the Tabernacle - to God's design. How did he know he had finished? I wonder how he felt. Did he knock in the last tent peg himself; hang the last curtain and then sit down on a bank and admire his and their handiwork, and watch?
Or was it that he just had time to step back and 'it' suddenly happened?
Just imagine it. The Cloud which had guided them day-by-day and had 'stopped and become sentry', now started moving again. But this time, not for a new distant destination. No, this time it was moving into the camp. It kept moving until it came and rested over the Tent of Meeting - the Holy of Holies.
THEN THE GLORY OF THE LORD FILLED THE TABERNACLE!
Awesome! This was God demonstrating once more His Eternal desire to be with His people, in relationship and intimacy.
Does He fill your vision, your day, your life? Because He wants too!
Give Him that joy today and the clouds of difficulty; challenge and despair will change to become the Cloud of the Glory of the Living God.
