This month I want to remind us What ON EARTH We should be doing! And What is our FATHER'S heartbeat? What is His greatest desire? |
Isaiah 53:11
HE WILL SEE THE RESULT OF THE SUFFERING OF HIS SOUL AND BE SATISFIED
This verse brings tears to my eyes - how about you?
Prophetically Isaiah is referring to Jesus our Saviour, Messiah. He saw by faith the depth of the suffering Jesus would have to experience, and shuddered. He goes into more graphic detail in the rest of this chapter and the last few verses of the previous one.
But through the agony of soul he sees a ray of light, a ray of hope. By inspiration of the Holy Spirit he sees the last chapter. He doesn't have the full picture but the dark tunnel has a light at the end, and because it is so dark, the brightness is blinding. The picture has to wait for John to reveal it to us but the "seed is sown" - the truth is glimpsed.
The writer to the Hebrews says - "for the joy that was set before Him." There's the clue. Jesus shall see the result of the suffering of His soul AND BE SATISFIED. I believe this also shows us that His death was not at the hands of satan, but to satisfy the wrath of God. Yes it was God's plan, and God's plans always have a happy ending!
How is the soul of Jesus to be satisfied? From the captives He has freed, from the sinners He has saved. Can I let you into a secret here, too?
I believe you can make a difference! I believe we have a part to play. You see for me this verse says - JESUS DID NOT DIE IN VAIN. All He suffered will be WORTH IT.
I believe we have a part to play in making sure that is true! It is up to us to go and share, tell and spread the Good News. Not just to see souls saved - for their benefit. But for what I believe is an even higher calling - that HE WILL SEE THE RESULT OF THE SUFFERING OF HIS SOUL AND BE SATISFIED. I believe for that to be true there must be more people in Heaven than in hell.
Will you join me in doing all we can to make that a reality.
Why? - BECAUSE HE IS WORTH IT!
