LAST OF ALL HE APPEARED TO ME
Paul's allowed to say that, of course!
He didn't mean that he was the last person to see the Resurrected Christ but that in order of priority he felt he was the lowest and the least, and yet by sovereign grace, though the least of the apostles - Jesus appeared to him.
Paul had, it seems, quite a few miraculous divine encounters; on the way to Damascus; before the shipwreck; in Arabia, and that "trip to Heaven". Very special experiences for a very special man with a very special mission.
His life was totally and revolutionary changed. He set out to destroy the disciples of Jesus and the new sect called "those of The Way" and instead - notice, he was not destroyed by Jesus, but set free by Him, so he became one of the most ardent and fervent followers of His.
What made the difference? Jesus appeared to him.
Have you met Jesus yet? Have you had that experience, where He has appeared to you in such a way that it revolutionised your whole life? Where the Cross of Christ took centre stage? Where the Christ of God was dying there for you and you alone? When from that moment on, the things of earth grew strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace?
Or have you never "seen" Him in that way? Or maybe, the experience has dulled and the magnitude of what He did and who He is, has faded?
Listen, He wants to "appear" to you again. And again, and again, until He is placed on the highest place of your life, above everything else.
He wants you to see Him in such a way, that you, like Paul, become totally SOLD OUT for Him.
Are you there? If not, admit it and ask Him to APPEAR TO YOU and to take you there.
