April Topic: CHRIST'S RESURRECTION |
This is what sets Christianity apart from all other religions. You cannot build up a lasting meaningful relationship with someone who is dead! That is why Christianity is NOT a religion. We have a unique relationship with God's One & Only Son who is Alive today and for evermore. That is a meaningful relationship! Come; let's remind ourselves about what happened... |
1 Corinthians 15:17
IF CHRIST HAS NOT BEEN RAISED YOUR FAITH IS FUTILE, YOU ARE STILL IN YOUR SINS
The fact of the resurrection of Jesus - His bodily resurrection from the dead, is fundamental to our Christian beliefs.
It is not an additional option - it is essential - and those who deny it, know neither the Scriptures, nor a personal relationship with Jesus, or the God of the Bible.
It is an "acid test" for any theologian - if he or she denies the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ do not follow their teaching, however plausible or appealing it may seem.
I have said it before but it bears repetition - Jesus is unique, Christianity is unique. Why? Because Jesus rose from the dead and was seen alive by many witnesses and no other religion can claim that - and any so-called Christian group or cult that denies the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead is counterfeit and to be avoided at all costs.
Paul is heavy on this issue and so am I. You are totally and utterly wasting your time and life, if Christ has not been raised. Why?
Firstly, if Jesus did not rise from the dead, He was a liar because He said He would.
Secondly, it is the only real proof we have of an after life at all, let alone a good one.
Thirdly, Jesus would not have been God, as He claimed to be.
If He wasn't God, He would have to be a liar, as I've already pointed out, but above that, His sacrifice for sin could not have been acceptable to God and therefore our sins are not forgiven and never will be. Therefore if Christ has not been raised our faith is futile and we are still in our sins.
BUT - He is - so our faith is vital and effective, and we have been eternally forgiven for our sins.
Isn't that terrific news?
There is no need to be ashamed of, or reticent about, Jesus' resurrection - it is sure and certain!
We ARE forgiven for all of our sins AND SET FREE.
Now, go and tell someone the good news!
