November Topic: EMMANUEL - GOD WITH US |
WE HAVE SEEN HIS GLORY! Let's spend November together looking at the fact that God longs to be with us and for us to spend time with Him. |
John 1:14
'THE WORD' BECAME FLESH AND LIVED FOR A WHILE AMONG US
First He walked in the Garden; then He came down and filled the Tabernacle; then He chose the Temple to house His Name - all pointing forward. All revealing the Eternal Plan and loving heart of Father.
But NOW! But now, we have a new dimension! God comes down as His Word made flesh. He reveals Himself in human form. He comes down once more to us, but this time in physical form - the Incarnate Son of God. The Infinite becomes Finite. God and Man. The impossible, which can only be grasped and comprehended by faith. "Our God contracted to a span, incomprehensively made Man."
John was there. John had an intimate relationship with the Christ, Messiah, Jesus. He testifies to the Truth. He declares the ultimate phenomenon. The 'Word' became flesh and lived for a while among us. How can this be? Nothing is impossible with God!
He had 'been away' too long. He longed to get, to be, close with His people and He longed to get to know His people and He longed to be able to reveal 'Who He really is' in relation to His creatures. Have you ever really contemplated it? God visited this earth for 33 years! (And still 'they' say there is no God - that the record must be a myth!) No, not 33 hours or 33 days but for 33 years, God lived for a while among us!
He came, He saw and He conquered! God not only became intimate with His people, He became intimately involved with our world, and our salvation. He also became intimately aware of our struggles, our pain, our frustration's, our challenges and our sin and sins. No more could we ever claim that God neither cares nor understands. No longer could we accuse God of remaining aloof and indifferent. He now fully identifies with each one of us and He more fully understands.
He also learned obedience to God the same way as we do; by the things He suffered.
Yes, again, God revealed His Eternal Heart's desire - to be with mankind - so the Word became flesh and 'Tabernacled' for a while among us. He lived in His 'Tent' and moved among us - just as before - but more intimately!
