Joshua 23:14
EVERY PROMISE OF THE LORD YOUR GOD HAS BEEN FULFILLED; NOT ONE HAS FAILED
What a terrific way to end your life! And our year!
So said Joshua at the end of his. Will you say the same at the end of yours? I hope to.
But what about this year? Can you say it of this year, too? As we look back, we've been through a lot together, haven't we? More than that, though, so too has Jesus and so too, has His Holy Spirit!
How have you coped with the challenges? Victoriously in Christ, I hope. But maybe as you look back over this last year, you are looking forward to the next one to begin very quickly, so that this year can be forgotten.
O.K. but whatever your year is like - close the chapter! Press on to the goal for which we have been called and chosen. The Eternal Presence of the King of Glory.
As you do close the chapter - look back on the faithfulness of God, His grace and His mercy. Yes, He was there in the hard times and maybe as the 'Footprints in the sand' poem suggests - sometimes He did have to carry you. But you will have grown through it all, your character will have been developed; your perseverance strengthened and your faith increased.
Thank you for being my companion in the pilgrimage this year. I hope, that as a result, you have seen Jesus clearer and that, in deed, He has been lifted up to draw you closer to Himself.
I pray, too, that you have become totally 'Sold Out' to Him and that you will carry on, as determined as ever, to serve the Living God, with all your heart, mind, soul and strength.
May I close by saying, thank you for coming with me and from the depth of my heart - like Joshua "I also know and have experienced in my life that 'every promise of God has been fulfilled, and not one has failed.'"
As you go into your New Year with Him - know assuredly that He will prove Eternally Faithful to all His Promises and to you.
HE WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU, NOR FORSAKE YOU!
